Skyler's 14 month update

Today Skyler turned 14 months old. It seemes like yesterday we were just celebrating her first b-day!!!

I thought it would be a good idea to start a blog for her as time seems to be flying by and some of you don't get to see her that often. This way you can stay connected to all of her latest accomplishments!

The biggest news is that she is FINALLY starting to eat better!!! This was a big concern as she was only 17.5 pounds at her one year appointment and was zero percentile on the charts for weight. She was 29 inches long and right in the 50th percenitle for length. We'll see how much she has grown since her 15 month checkup is next month.

Foods that she likes right now and can feed herself include strawberries, blueberries, bananas, pickles, waffles, pasta, goldfish crackers, and toasted croissants. She is pretty good about trying new foods and will try anything we give her.

It is obvious what she likes as she eats all of that food first. What she dosesn't like she throws on the floor to Chatham. ( We are trying to put an end to that!!!!) Skyler and Chatham are best buddies and are also partners in crime!

She is not walking on her own yet, but walks very well as long as she is holding onto someone's hand or her Fisher-Price walker. She is a speed crawler and goes up and down the stairs without any assistance. She tries to climb on everything and has no fear! Her newest nickname is trouble monkey.

We are really lucky b/c she is a very happy little girl and is almost always in a good mood. She can also be quite vocal and has a very loud and high pitched scream when she gets really excited or frustrated about something. She loves to hear her own voice and talks, sings and yells a lot. She is also very easy to get laughing.

She has always been a very good sleeper for us and goes to bed around 8PM and gets up at 8AM. She takes one nap a day from 1-3. I love that she is such a good sleeper as you all know I need my sleep!!! She always wakes up in the morning and from her naps with a big smile on her face ready to play.

She is taking swimming lessons on Monday mornings and we still occasionally attend music class on Thursdays. She loves to be outside!!! We go for a walk everyday with Chatham and hang out on our deck. She also loves her Fisher-Price swing Kevin hung from one of our large pine trees.

Last week Kevin was on vacation and we took a trip to the zoo to see her favorite animal~the elephants!!!

Skyler has fun getting together and playing w/her friends. Ironically, many of our friends had babies right around the time she was born so it is easy to get a play group together.

Wish you all lived closer so you could see Skyler for yourself! Hopefully this helps you feel closer!!!
